The addition of enterprise management features of Enterprise Project and the advanced Microsoft Central resulted to the launching of Microsoft Project Server. The security features of Microsoft Project Server were improved to sustain access to resources, projects and reports that are stored in the database of Microsoft Project Server. Aside from the security features, the architecture was also customized so that managing the large number of users will be simplified. Microsoft Project Server provides authentication allowing all users including those who do not have Windows user accounts to log on to the server through Microsoft Project Web Access. It also benefits group users because they can be granted access as one.
